- Outdoor Gatherings Will Likely Become A Safe Norm. Professor of medicine and epidemiology at the University of California Timothy Brewer says “outdoor activities have not turned out, as best as we can tell, to be a significant factor in pushing the pandemic forward. ”Does this mean “Project X” size house parties are back on the table? No! But the experts expect outdoor gatherings to increase this summer but do advise extreme caution when mingling with unvaccinated folks.
- Restaurants Will Probably Lean Heavily On Outdoor Dining. Speaking of the great outdoors, expect your meals to continue to be served with a side of fresh air. The experts say outdoor dining will still be the lifeblood of the restaurant industry this summer.
- Beaches And Pools Will Be A Relatively Safe Way To Enjoy The Warm Weather. Good news water lovers. Swimming is back on the menu. David Aronoff, director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center says people should feel comfortable heading to the beach or pool this summer. As long as you keep up with your social distancing you should be fine.Let’s just hold off on chicken fights in the pool until 2022 to be safe.
